Podcast Series: In Conversation

The VCLA is embarking on a programme of international visits, in order to hold what is intended to become a worldwide series of conversations with scholars. We begin with visits to Romania and Turkey. Here, we currently look forward to speaking to –

  • Professor Ecaterina Lung, of the Department of Ancient History, Archaeology and Art History, and Director of the Centre for Medieval Studies in the Faculty of History, at the University of Bucharest;
  • Professor Nelu Zugravu, Director of the Centre for the Study of Classics and Christianity in the Faculty of History, at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iaşi;
  • Professor Turhan Kaçar, of the Department of History in the Faculty of Letters, at Istanbul Medeniyet University.

The VCLA Research Webinar Series

Our first international webinar panel will be on Procopius. Our panellists will be Dr Conor Whately (Winnipeg), Dr Ian Colvin (Cambridge) and Dr Miranda Williams (Oxford).

Following the publication of Christopher Lillington-Martin & Elodie Turquois (eds), Procopius of Caesarea: Literary and Historical Interpretations (Routledge, London & New York, 2017), we will be discussing current research problems in the study of Procopius.
